There is council rules JTL, they are supposed to have sandbags on the legs. Problem is that the Restaurant next door put out the other places sign without permission and didn't sandbag it. If the council don't enforce unlawful signs , make your own saying "The food in this restaurant is crap" and stand out side with it until you get your money. Guarantee it wont take long evil


Let me start by saying that if I were the restaurateur in question, I'd have put you in contact with my insurer; that's exactly the sort of thing that we pay our liability insurance for.

I'm really surprised by Burgundymog's advice. JTL is right; there are a lot of nasty people out there. To stand outside a restaurant with a sign like that could well provoke a violent reaction - and could ultimately be seen as behavior liable to cause a breach of the peace.

Just because somebody else has behaved badly, doesn't mean that you have to.
